Support our Groundwork Team

On October 6th, 2021, two of our Groundwork Crew members were murdered, and two were grievously wounded in a mass shooting while working on a green infrastructure project at the New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Derrick Copelin, 25, and Zernell Lee, 19, were talented, hard-working young men, growing into leaders in their chosen field of urban water management and construction. 


Please join us at a candlelight vigil to celebrate their lives on Saturday, October 9th, at 6:00 PM at the New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3825 Annunciation Street @ General Taylor. We will honor these young men and the incredible efforts they made to improve their community and lives
