Colleen McHugh, Colleen McHugh is a Senior Adaptation Planner at the Water Institute of the Gulf, a not-for-profit, independent applied research and technical services institution with a mission to help coastal and deltaic communities thoughtfully prepare for an uncertain future. Prior to joining the Institute this June, Colleen worked for the City of New Orleans, where she was instrumental in the development of the city’s award-winning Resilience Strategy, the city’s first-ever Climate Action Plan, and the implementation of multi-benefit green infrastructure and nature-based solutions. Colleen’s background is in city planning and urban design. She has a B.A. in Global Studies from UCLA and a Master in City Planning from MIT.
