Sonji is a construction management professional with 20 years of diversified
program and construction project management experience. Sonji developed her love of New Orleans while at Tulane, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Later she earned a Certificate in Construction Management from California State University - East Bay. She has consistently worked in K-12 education facility programs, renovating and building new schools in California and Louisiana. Sonji also worked with the City of New Orleans Recovery Program after Hurricane Katrina, where she secured over $50 million in FEMA reimbursement funding for various health clinics, libraries, and community centers around the city of New Orleans. Sonji has always been a supporter and proponent of green infrastructure and is a certified GPRO
instructor through the Urban Green Council and has taught classes to construction professionals, including Fundamentals of Building Green and Green Construction Management. In addition, she is a strong promoter of women in the construction industry and the trades. She is a member of various organizations, including the National Association of Women in Construction, Women in Operations, USGBC, and the Urban League.
